NASHVILLE, Tenn.— The highly-anticipated self-titled debut from 18-year-old singer/songwriter Joy Lippard is set for worldwide retail release February 24 through a distribution partnership with Go Global Entertainment and Koch Entertainment.
Lippard, a 2006 GMA Music in the Rockies songwriting competition winner, wrote or co-wrote all of the album’s 10 selections and co-produced the project with Todd Wright. A guitar and piano player, her acoustic-pop melodies articulate a maturity that belies her age, while her honest, yet hopeful lyrics speak largely to her peers.
The album’s upbeat debut single, “Miracle,” has been serviced to Christian AC and CHR formats. Additional highlights of the project include “She’s a Diamond” and “Stronger,” both of which address self-image issues; “Hey There Stranger” and “I Will Write You Letters,” songs exploring the need for meaningful relationships; and “Hole In My Pocket,” which Lippard co-wrote with acclaimed singer/songwriter Scott Dente.
This spring, Lippard will hit the road as part of the “Wonder of the World” Tour, featuring Rush Of Fools, Jimmy Needham and special guest Sarah Reeves. The Tour is slated for 15-20 markets including Chicago; Memphis; Charleston, West Virginia; and Marietta, Ohio, in February, March, and April.
Lippard has recently added a management partnership with Patton House Entertainment, a talent management firm based in Nashville. The company also represents Rush Of Fools, The Michael Gungor Band, Jimmy Needham and Sarah Reeves. Patton House Entertainment is led by Andrew Patton, an industry veteran with over 18 years of proven experience inside the Christian music community.
“I have had the pleasure of working in development with Joy for the past two years,” said Patton. “Her growth musically, and as a songwriter, has shown her dedication to the creative process. I’m excited for her as the CD release approaches and look forward to seeing what God is going to do with her songs and her complete willingness to serve Him.”
A recent high school graduate, Lippard hails from suburban Washington, D.C. Penning her first song at the age of 11, Lippard went on to serve as a youth worship leader at McLean Bible Church. She is an advocate of international missions and has participated in trips to Peru, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic.
